Brief Bio
I received my undergraduate degree in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. I grew up in Hudson, New York, but have spent time in places all over the world, including, Israel, Uganda, and Malawi.
Before beginning my graduate studies at Penn State, I worked as a Research Analyst and Consultant for a boutique market research firm serving Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, I was the Program Associate for the Philanthropy Program at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. There I helped manage grants aimed at creating an online marketplace for the nonprofit sector as well as supporting capacity-building projects for grantees Foundation-wide. As part of these efforts I helped develop “Right-sizing the Grantmaking Process”, a publication of Project Streamline. These experiences have inspired me to pursue a career where I utilize research to maximize social impact. When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking, exploring wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and learning from my son. |
